We had such a fun afternoon finding our eggs and grouping them. Thank you to one of our 'hoppity' helper parents for providing all of the Easter eggs!!! WOW!!

What is Reader's Workshop?
The mini-lesson gives the students a purpose for reading (predicting, inferring, etc…). The closing is before the literacy stations because you want to reinforce the lesson and make sure that after independent reading students still comprehend what was taught in the mini-lesson. If students go to literacy stations before the closing then they may forget the point of the lesson! Literacy stations are a fun way for students to continue reading. For example, students may be asked to read the room, write the room, buddy read, work in the phonics center, make words, go to the listening center, or go to starfall.com on the computer, etc.
